Trey Calloway Interview: “Slide,” ’90s Country, Nashville & Ryman Auditorium Dream Come True
Nashville singer-songwriter Trey Calloway joins Alter Eagle Podcast for a conversation about country music, songwriting, chasing dreams, and his newest single, “Slide.”
Trey grew up in North Carolina singing in church before finding his passion for the storytelling and sound of ’90s country music. Since then, he’s been named Songwriter of the Year at the Texas Country Music Awards, earned more than four million Spotify streams, had a music video featured on CMT, landed Spotify editorial playlists, and shared stages with artists including Joe Diffie, Tracy Lawrence, Pat Green and Craig Campbell.
We talk about the inspiration behind “Slide,” Trey’s recently released album Truck Around, his love of traditional country music, and his upcoming EP Honkytonk Generation, which he’s creating with hit songwriter and producer Phil O’Donnell.
And Trey has plenty of big moments ahead, including his first-ever performance at the legendary Ryman Auditorium in Nashville this fall.
